I Bought The Wrong AC Unit

When I moved out west, I had no idea how hot the daily temperatures got. I knew it was warmer out here compared to where I was living before, but I didn’t know the extent of it. The house I purchased was in good shape, but it needed a brand new AC unit. I knew this before purchasing the house, but it was in such a good location that I couldn’t dream of passing it up. I thought that buying a new AC unit was simple, so I purchased the house and vowed to have the AC unit replaced before summer arrived. I found an AC unit for sale at a discount store and the price seemed really great compared to what I had been looking at online. I purchased the AC unit and scheduled a time with the local HVAC company to have an HVAC professional come install the new AC unit for me. I told them how I needed to have my old AC unit disconnected and removed and the new AC unit put into its place. They were happy to do it, so we scheduled a time. I was so excited for my new AC unit and the efficiency it would bring to my house. When the HVAC professional started ripping out the old AC unit though, he told me that the new one I purchased was the wrong size! It was too small for the house, so it wouldn’t run efficiently because it would work twice as hard to produce cool air. This was devastating news, but I’m glad he told me before it was too late.
